Houston police plan to reveal more details on Tuesday about the four
MS-13 gang members accused of hacking a police informant to death with a
machete.
Marlon A. Miranda, 19; Wilson J. Ventura-Mejia, 22;
Miguel Aguilar-Ochoa, 33; and Carlos Elias Henriquez-Torres, 18, are
charged in the June 6 murder of Victor Castro Martinez.
According
to court records, Miranda, Ventura-Mejia, Aguilar-Ochoa and
Henriquez-Torres took turns “hacking” the 25-year-old victim to death
with a machete.
“Machetes, that’s one of their weapons of choice.
Machetes and guns, and that’s only if they want you to die quickly,”
explained Mark Stephens, a former HPD undercover officer with 30 years
experience in law enforcement. “I think what they did was lure him to
his death.”
During a probable cause hearing Aug. 23, it was revealed the victim, an MS-13 gang member himself, was cooperating with police.
According
to court records, on June 6, he contacted police to tell them he was
meeting with MS-13 gang members. Police provided him a recording device
and watched him as he left his southwest Houston apartment with the
suspects.
At 10:13 p.m., the victim texted his location to an
officer: 7600 Long Drive, next to Cullinan Park. There was no more
communication.
The next morning, police found Martinez’s bloodied
body in the park. Their recording device was still in his pocket. They
determined he died within 30 minutes of his text.
Investigators believe the victim was murdered because the suspects thought he was working with a rival gang.
A prosecutor told the hearing officer the suspects may be tied to seven other murders.
Among MS-13, any sign of disloyalty is a death sentence, said Stephens.
“The only way you leave MS-13 is in a body bag,” he said.
All four gang members are behind bars. The state has requested all the defendants be separated from each other while in jail.
Investigators say their arrests are part of a bigger operation targeting the ruthless gang.

News has learned Houston police will also announce numerous others
arrests related to investigations into MS-13 at a news conference on
Tuesday.
The majority of cases involve gang-on-gang crimes, according to HPD sources.

I was a bit sceptical considering the original screenshot looks like it was from Breitbart, where it states:

Naturally, my first thought was, “If the play is actually described as the retelling of a true story where a Jewish woman actually did make a safehouse for a Latina mother and her children, maybe it’s the Right-wing media that are being antisemitic and automatically jumping to Anne Frank for no reason?”
This is why it’s important to double-check these things, so I know whether to actually be outraged or not.

Zimmerman’s unique take on the staging was inspired by the true story of a Jewish woman in Los Angeles who created a “Safe House” for a Latina mother and her two daughters after her husband was deported by ICE. Zimmerman states, “This made me think, what would happen if this Jewish woman handed out the play to families that she’s hiding and they all begin to read it aloud? Couldn’t the story of Anne Frank be extremely important today since a recent New York Times’ survey found the memory of the Holocaust is fading?”
No, OP is entirely right and this downright disrespect of Anne Frank’s memory, as well as the memories of everyone else that suffered in the attic, is absolutely abhorrent.
There is absolutely no reason why the play couldn’t be something new, based on that real story about the Jewish woman hiding a family from ICE instead of spitting on the dead and making light of Nazis.

Jews had lived in Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Austria, etc. for centuries. Their families had owned property. They developed and maintained their own businesses and banks. They were established, having bled, died, and fought for that soil. Their places of worship were destroyed, their citizenship denied, their homeland denied, their rights stripped, and their families torn apart, sometimes literally limb by limb. They were not new immigrants demanding citizenship of a foreign country. They had their very bloodlines infused with European land, it was theirs in every way your property is yours and mine is mine, they had every right to worship and own their property and it was violently revoked from them. Do not compare illegal immigrants to the persecuted Jews of Europe.

This is a nightmare. People were actually rounded up from their own properties and slaughtered like pigs. They were separated from their children and shot into mass graves.
